Warren Junior School Update No 42 - October 2017
Parents’ evening this term will take place on Tuesday October 17th and Thursday 19th October 2017. You should have received a letter in early October enabling you to make an appointment with the class teacher.
The roads close to the school become very congested with cars, both before and after school during the school run. If you need to see your child into the school playground can I encourage you to park a little further away
and walk the final part of the journey. Your support with this is much appreciated.
Should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact the relevant member of staff via the school office. Appointment forms are always available.
I would like to thank all of you have returned the contact forms for groupcall. This service will allow the school to contact you via text, instant messaging or email if required and could significantly improve the communication between school and home notably in the areas of first day calling and matters relating to ParentPay.
In recent years our Harvest Collection has been very well supported. We know the Barking and Dagenham Food Bank really appreciates our contribution. Every year we are informed of how it has made a difference to children and families in our locality. I would like to ask you again to send in non-perishable foods for our Harvest collection. Thank you once again for your ongoing support in this area.
I would like to remind you that the photographer will be in school on Friday 10th November 2017 to take either individual photographs or photographs of brothers and sisters who attend Warren Junior School.
Healthy snacks for break
Children are often rewarded with special chance cards for bringing in healthy snacks to be eaten at break time. Please support this school initiative by encouraging your child to bring in fruit and other healthy snacks instead of sweets and crisps.
Pupils in all year groups are given homework to consolidate concepts that have been taught in class that week. In addition to this pupils should be reading to an audience at least 4 times a week, with this being recorded in the reading diary. The days in which homework is given is different in each year group and is subject to change, however if you would like clarification on the homework that is being sent home please feel free to make an appointment to discuss it with the class teacher.
